You're not getting concrete results because there is nothing left to diagnose. Your son simply has a chronic condition that means his eyes don't create enough liquid to keep them from drying out. It is very similar to eczema.

Will it get better? Possibly. I have eczema and I always get an itch somewhere, even after I scratch, the itch will just appearance somewhere else on my body. Whilst this can be frustrating at times, most of the time, easy to ignore. if I focus on something else. This wasn't the case when I was younger. I had to wear special wrappings as I kept scratching so much that my Skin was extremely sore and bleeding. This fortunately improved as I got older, and now I only have to use skin cream when I shower or bath.

I can't say what will definitely happen, but from what I have gathered, these problems tend to improve with age and consistent treatment.

Hi Husain, I would just add, that you should use preservative free drops. It is often the preservatives in the drops that exacerbate the problem.

Preservative free drops are single use drops and more expensive but you can get generic versions which are the same drug but cheaper.
