Red Patch on Gum for 3 months

I've had this red patch on my gum just inside the lip for about 3 months When touching with the tongue, I can feel that it's there as it feels a like a rough texture compared to the normal slimy gums, but it is not painful. For a while it also looked like "cracked lines" running through the patch which made me think it was thrush but i'm not sure . I do remember having a patch like this 5 years ago, showed a doc and she said she doesnt see anything, and it eventually went away on its own.
It was not a typical canker or cold sore ever, just showed up as this flat red patch. Some days it feels like its going down in size and other days I feel like it isn't.
Saw my primary and he said its an ulcer, canker sore. I told him ive had canker sores before and they're never like this. Calling an oral specialist tomorrow for an appointment.
The only thing im reading online is that it could be erythroplakia which is apparently almost always precancerous, so i'm freaking out. I'm 26, non-smoker and rarely drink.
Anyone else have any experience with this?

Yeah I seem to only see oral thrush pics on the tongue, it was the cracked lines that made me think it. Calling for an appt tomorrow so hopefully they can get me in quick. My primary was so quick to say its just an ulcer but its hard for me to trust that.

it dosnt look like a canker sore either so i think best to get it looked at to be on the safe side u can get oral thrush on the gums etc throat tongue but its usually very sore and inflamed and an off white yellow coloured coating which is hard to remove if scraped off it leaves a sore red patch so i dont think u need to worry about it being that if u have had something similar before but has gone away it might not be cause for concern

I had something on the inside of my mouth under gums a few years ago that i kept feeling with my tongue, had it checked out, to ease my mind. Turned out to be nothing went away on its own. Its always best to have these things checked out for your own piece of mind.

Did they biopsy it or just tell you it was fine? Was it similar to what you see in these pics? I did ask my primary and with a quick glance he said its just an ulcer. I said "a 3 month ulcer?" and he confidently said "yes, some can last a while". I'll be going to ENT to get it checked further. Been over-googling myself into thinking its cancer.
