I notice my glans changing color around middle of march 2020. Last sexual intercourse was in the middle to end of august 2019 and protected, except for oral.

I have been using clotrimazole cream but hydrocortisone seem to give me better results. Im thinking I have some sort of yest infection or balanitis. Tell me what can this be. Also sometime it itch a bit.

    Dear zachary,

It's unlikely to be thrush because, as you say, the clotrimazole cream isn't as effective as hydrocortisone. So the next question is what 'type' of balanitis do you have? This is difficult to answer without taking a detailed clinical history and conducting a physical examination.

Many cases of balanitis are incidental and due to allergy or sensitivity to something applied to the glans penis. So if you can identify the provoking agent/s (soap, detergent, perfume, drugs, etc) and avoid it, it should clear the condition. Other cases can be due to an underlying skin condition like eczema or psoriasis- do you have any of these?

    Adhari.

Thanks for the reply. I used to wash my penis with soap for years, never had any issues, which I don't do any more just warm water. I do have a bit more acne than I had and some tiny patches of eczema. Like you said I think I need to get a medical evaluation.
