Red purple spots on labia, what are they? (Pic)

Posted , 2 users are following.

imageI have had these for years now. Both sides.

Sometimes very itchy.

I always thought they were varicose but my GP says they are not that.

I want to know what they are. Anyone else has this?

I punctured one once. Kept on bleeding and bleeding, next day just as before.

They are soft not hard. Cant locate them by feeling only looking. Seem to have gotten slightly bigger over the years and maybe more. Not sure.

Hard to get a picture but managed. On the picture they are very purple. I usually find them more red. They are definitely blood filled, when I touch them I can drain them for like a microsecond. Immediately fills up again.

They do not hurt, only itch sometimes

I think they are called angiokeratoma and are connected to the Fordyce glands. Not serious but can be itchy as you have found. Some doctors can remove them with cautery if they are really bothering you. You can also get laser treatment for them. If you are in UK that would not be on the NHS . you would have to use a private clinic.

      Thank you for your reply.

How did you have yours diagnosed? Did you have them removed? Was it painful. Did they come back?

How did they check whether it was this or varicose?
