Red raised circle or big toe..

I've had this for few years.. doesn't cause me pain or any issues, it's not a hard lump etc it's soft, it's like raised skin it's red and round.. picture below.

    my reply with a web link is waiting to be moderated but it was livestrong and suggested corns and or callouses which start as flesh colour and are then irritated by shoes.  Might be worth a word with a podiatrist

    This looks like a soft corn, although they're traditionally found between the toes. If your getting some pressure and/or friction from your shoe I suspect it could cause a soft corn on the top of the toe. If you're not experiencing any pain you could let it be until it starts getting worse in either size or pain.

    I would evaluate your footwear and consider going up a half size on certain styles. You could also use a silicone toe cap to reduce pressure/friction, but honestly I think you'll find them cumbersome especially if you're not experiencing any pain.
