Hi.
i been having this rash on my penis for quite sometime as you can tell by the title it all started with some fungus eczema on the shaft after that went away i got the red rash on my glans without anybody knowing why it is really annoying since this has been bringing me quite down for months now since nothing worked that ive tried and nobody wants to help it seems (Urologist or Dermatologist) i seen 1 urologist and he just shrug it off and said he didn't know what it was and just sent me home i seen 2 dermatologist's and they didn't know what it was so they just sent me home as well so now im trying to post here before i'm seeing a fairly new dermatologist this month and i hope i can get some closure on this since i'm starting to feel really depressed about all of it...
More to add is that it always seems to be worse the days i'm at work then when i just stay at home so i have started really not wanting to work anymore because its affecting me so much...
What test i had done.
STD test (Chlamydia and Gonorrhea) (Negative)
Standard UTI test (Negative)
Swab test (Negative)
Normal blood test (All was fine)
What i tried so far.
Anti-fungal cremes for 2 weeks. (No improvement...)
Anti-fungal pills for 4 days. (No improvement...)
Anti-bacteria cremes for 2 weeks. (No improvement...)
Low steroid creme for 1 week . (No improvement...)
Switching washing detergent (Helped 10%)
Using sensitive soap and shampoo for showering (No improvement...)
No sex/masterbation for 6 months (No improvement...)

Hey buddy,
I feel your pain. Although nowhere near as long as you, i can relate to the depression/obsession this thing has caused.
I've had a rash on the glans for about 6 weeks. tried two attempts at antifungal pills, nothing. Been using an antifungal cream for about 5 weeks, still nothing.
I've been to the Dr who has said thrush or shrugged it off. Nurses at the sexual health clinic have said the same. I'm waiting for results on a Chlamydia/Ghonorrhea urine test (I've been with one girl - highly unlikely)
I'm assuming you've already scoured the web looking for answers, I've read about coconut oil maybe treating balanitis, if that's what you think it could be give it a go? I've tried but no success. I'm wondering if i have a bacterial form of balanitis. I've done a general urine test twice at the docs both fine, but my mams a nurse and brought home some dip stick tests which indicate bacteria in the urine? i don't know. Anyway, i hope you can solve this problem. Thoughts are with you, keep me up to date if you crack it

I can empathise that this is a real source of annoyance for you, and you just want the situation to be put right so that your penile skin heals and returns to the way it used to be.
Here are some general comments:
You have tried quite a number of things, so the issue here is: i.) did you have a fungal infection anyway? ii.) the cream you tried for 2 weeks should have shown improvement, if it actually was a fungal / yeast infection
Were you having unprotected sex immediately prior to this showing up? if so, do you have a regular partner or different sexual acquaintances? If you have a regular partner do you know whether they had a yeast / fungal infection at the time?
I would suggest trying medication such as the anti-fungal pills for 4 days is not long enough, if you were directed by a medical professional to take them normally the course for these is 7, 10 or 14 days depending on the strength and the level of the suspected infection.
Again, the steroid for a week is not long enough, again, depending whether a medical professional prescribed this to you the strength may not have been sufficient and I would say that even if it was the appropriate strength most dermatologists would direct use of the most powerful topical steroids for a minimum of two weeks and a typical minimum course would be 4 weeks.
If you mean detergent for washing your clothes in, particularly underclothes of course then the best to use is Liquid Soap Flakes - this is used in a mashing machine to replace normal soap powders etc, also you should not add any forms of clothes softeners or fragrance to the wash.
.
The essential is that I would suggest now on you should NEVER have contact with soap or ANY form of body wash on your penile skin again. There is a urologist sometimes replies to these Forums and he explained that the only other skin on the body that is as sensitive as the head and foreskin of the penis are the eyelids. And that the starting point for trying to achieve healthy penile skin is to use WATER ONLY to wash with.
.
Whatever it is that started all of this off for your penile skin it is not going to go anywhere unless you make radical changes - and yes, I have been there myself, my penile skin was a total mess for around 8 to 9 months and it only became healthy again by putting in place the measures I have been talking about.
Indeed, my experiences led me to develop a protocol of the broader things you need to think about and put in place in an attempt to further address what you have going on:
.
Penile Hygiene Regime to Combat Specific Skin Problems
.
The best approach is not to use ANY SOAP on the Glans / Head of your penis - wash with water only EVERY time you have urinated, after sexual arousal, and ejaculation. If you are not circumcised, protect the Glans of your penis every time you take a shower by drawing the foreskin as far forward as you can, then wash everywhere else, thoroughly rinse off all the gels / shampoo and suchlike, then expose your glans wash it with the water only using the inside of your hand, then each time you have washed it you must make sure to 100% pat dry immediately afterwards with a clean towel.
.
After you have put this in place and you still have the situation going on you need to look at what else your penis is coming into contact with on a fairly regular basis. The likely suspects are:-
.
If you can answer the question I posed and post some images / pictures of your penis at its worst state that would be helpful.

Hi.
The pictures are uploaded now.
i.) (did you have a fungal infection anyway?) "Well i think i might have had it on my shaft since that went away after applying for 2 week with the anti-fungal creme but i highly doubt i have it on my glans"
ii.) (the cream you tried for 2 weeks should have shown improvement, if it actually was a fungal / yeast infection) "Yeah as i said before i don't think i have a fungal infection on the glans since i had no improvement with it"
Before this i had no sexual partner and i didn't have sex with anyone before this came up (Now i do have a partner and she has no signs of infection or yeast and she is tested aswell)
Also would you suggest i try to go back and try steroid cremes for longer before i see a dermatologist again? (Will see her in 2 weeks)
So about the washing im already using flakes and it has no soap or perfume in it, and im cleaning my penis only with water and nothing else! 😃

Any steroid cream is not really for use on the genitals, they may deal with skin issues elsewhere on the body but is ointment versions that you need to give a beneficial impact to problematical skin such as on the head / glans and foreskin of the penis.
What steroid were you using?

So the steroid cream i used was called Hydrocortisone and i don't think its was a ointment just think it was the normal version of it, but i have clobetasol dermovate at home that i haven't used maybe that could help i have no idea?

Were you actually prescribed the Clobetasol? If so, was this the dermatologist that gave you that for the penis issues, or perhaps you have skin problems elsewhere on the body?

Nope i wasn't but my dad has some skin issues and he got it from his doctor (he has no penile issue like me) and for me i have no issue beside that but i got the Hyrdrocortisone from another dermatologist that wasn't very helpful when that wasn't successful after that 1 week i tried so now im going to another dermatologist..

So, what you need to know is that the Clobetasol is one of the most powerful steroidal applications there is. There are many different levels of strengths, even among the Hyrdrocortisone that you were given - normally there is a percentage marked on the side of the tube to say how strong it is.
However, it is easy to confuse one from another as there are different classifications of topical steroid, the clobetasol may not seem unusual by the % marked on it, but is around 4,000 times stronger than a lower classification steroid application.
When talking about any steroid, such as the hyrdrocortisone it is best to use the actual name it has on the side of the tube as the strength can often be determined from that.
If you follow the hygiene guide I have posted as much as you can and then update your Forum post here after you have seen the Dermatologist .....

Hi.
i was at the dermatologist on Friday and she said it might possible be eczema but i have no symptoms of itching and the flaky skin a normal person would have with eczema and she gave me a creme with 85% fat in it that should help eczema and i used it since friday now and to be honest it made my symptoms much worse im fearing it might be something like LS or LP? but she doesn't seem to wanna do a biopsy on me?

The reaction you have would suggest either the diagnosis was incorrect, or you have been given the wrong medication to deal with what you actually have.
Inform the dermatologist of the reaction you have had and see what else they would suggest.
The photo you have posted shows you have irritation of the skin on the head of the penis, to me this shows no indicators of conditions such as LS or LP.
What I detailed to you in my initial detailed response are the things you need to avoid contacting your penile skin - even if you do all that I suggest you may not notice and difference for a number of months of consistently doing all of these things.
My experience with this Forum in the last year suggests that once a dermatologist starts with a treatment that makes the symptoms worse this can greatly delay any recovery, and in addition, cause the skin problems that it simply did not have before treatment began ......

So i went back to my own doctor and he told me to try 50mg fluconazole for 4 weeks i will be trying that to see if i will get any improvement.

So the same basic questions apply:-
Is it actually a fungal infection you have?
Here is what Fluconazole is used for"
" Fluconazole is used to prevent and treat a variety of fungal and yeast infections. It belongs to a class of drugs called azole antifungals. It works by stopping the growth of certain types of fungus. "
.
So. certain types of fungus
.
Are you currently having unprotected Vaginal penetrative sex? Otherwise, what is the source of the infection ...... ?
