Red spot on penis tip? Not sure what is going on

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hi. last week, I notice three red spots on the tip of my penis. two are very small and the third is larger. they are smooth painless, no discharge, no other symptoms. they have not changed at all. i've had the same sexual partner for the last five years. we has sex about four days before these spots appeared. I also masterbated several times before they appeared.

doctor said its not likely an STI, and perscribed Cephalexin. ive been taking it for the last four days, but so far no improvement.

any idea what this could be?image

      Hi John,

Ive somehow developed the same exact thing in the past week. 4-5 flat red spots slightly raised, smooth, shiny and relatively painless, although theyre a little sensitive because of the location along the rim they rub against clothing. They look like your picture.

We have similar circumstances, so id like to share my story and maybe we can figure it out - ive had the same partner for the last 7 years, and weve only been physical this past year, and shes been the only person ive been physical with in the last 10+ years. I dont masturbate. Also, im the only person shes ever been physical with, so given those details I cant see how it could possibly be an STI. This is the first time ive ever had anything happen down there, so of course, its a little upsetting to say the least.

Do you have any other small random spots anywhere around your body that sort of came out nowhere, maybe near wrists, either side of arms? Or any random itchy spots / red bumps?

Have you checked for these flat spots not just on the twig, but the berries?

Some things ive found while researching:

You should look up "Lichens Planus" ... Does this look / sound familiar? it can affect the glans.

Its possible to get something called balinitis from your partner is she has a yeast infection.

Also, ive read horror stories about putting 1% cortisone on your private parts so id recommend avoiding that.

Please update here with any progress you make, I dont have any dermatologists close by so im kind of on my own in figuring this one out.

      Thanks!

sooo, saw the doc again today, because I also started experiencing some prostate issues (discomfort sitting, some discomfort urinating etc) so my thought was ok, this has to be an sti.

doc says no its not. it is not presenting as such.

the red patches on my penis are healing, albeit slowly. so he has given me a hydrocortisone cream for it, and changed my anit biotoc to ciporfloxacin do deal with the prostatitis infection and it will work on the skin infection too. hopefully, this will do the trick.

Thank you for the update! I dont have any of the prostate issues, but Im really interested to know if the Cipro / hydrocortisone combination does anything to help the skin condition. Please let me know how the treatment goes - that would be a huge help.
