Reddish bumps on palms

Posted , 2 users are following.

I was having dry skin from the past 4 months with some peeling of the outer skin. From the last 3-4 days, I am seeing few reddish bump like appearances on my palm, which is mildly painful when pressed. I have attached an image for reference, where I have marked three such regions. I don't know if they are due to some allergies that go away by time, or something serious that needs attention. I have slightly increased ESR value (28) and cholesterol levels (290) in blood, as per a recent blood test. Also, I am having muscle cramps across the body since a month. Any help is greatly appreciated.

This looks like an eczema that occurs on the hands and feet. You need to wash your hands in a mild soap, rinse well, dry well, and then work in lots of emollient cream, especially before sleeping at night. Do this every day. Stress can sometimes start it off.Do you work with metals of any sort? You can also try taking an antihistamine one a day to lower the inflammation. I'm guessing this is why your ESR is raised.

A cholesterol level of 290 is something to take seriously. Do you have a high fat diet? Are you overweight? Do you smoke? The muscle cramps may be associated with the high cholesterol. If you smoke try to give up and also look at your diet...try to cut down on all high fat/salt foods. However, you really need to consult with a doctor about this who can advise you on the best way forward . If you are 50+ then you should see a doctor soon.
