Redness and bumps on penis glans, I really need help!

Posted , 5 users are following.

About 4 months ago I started having small white bumps appear on my penis glans. I made a post about on this forum, and saw my doctor, who assured me it was nothing.

Later, about 1 month ago, I started having redness as well, and a sort of swelling around my urinary meatus (the urine hole). My penis is now irritated / itchy, mostly when I move the foreskin about the glans. I, again, went to see my doctor, who, again, said it was nothing (which I really don't believe). I convinced him to do a Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae test, which both came back negative. He asked me to start using a yeast infection cream called Canesten 1%, which I have used for about a week now, and see no clear results.

Should I just keep using the cream, or has anyone experienced the same? I really don't want to go back to the doctor, since he will just say it's nothing again.

Hello again, I have just looked up your previous post that I replied to. Well done on getting a Doctor to check this for you, only, the Doctor has, I think, completely missed what you have going on right now. Particularly on your most recent visit where you say:

" I started having redness as well, and a sort of swelling around my urinary meatus (the urine hole). My penis is now irritated / itchy, mostly when I move the foreskin about the glans. I, again, went to see my doctor, who, again, said it was nothing "

However, you did also say in your previous post that:

" for many years I've had these small white-ish bumps on the tip of my penis head, and some just underneath as well. "

    .

The essential is to separate out what is naturally present on the head of your penis, and the stuff that is going on that should not be. Redness, swelling and irritation is not natural, that is for sure and this is what the Doctor should have treated in your most recent visit.

So of course, you are right you either have an infection of, or something causing irritation to your Meatus.

Can you just confirm whether you have been sexually active in the last 5 or 6 weeks, and if so whether you used protection each time? If you are sexually active and not using protection each time this can be a source of the irritation / infection, or it may only be part of the issue and there is something else causing the main irritation.

I would be looking to see a different Doctor, or perhaps if there is a sexual element to what you have go to a Sexual Health Service, if you can see different specialists of your own choosing, go see a Urologist ....

hi, thanks for the answer and sorry for the late response.

I am sexually active with my girlfriend, and we usually don't use a condom. She is the only one I have been with, but she has been with a couple before me. we have been together for over 2 years now, and the redness has first appeared now, so I don't think it's an STD or something that she has transferred, other than maybe an infection of some sort, although granted I don't know much in this field.

saying I'm sexually active is also only in a small way, as I can probably count the times we have had sex the last 4 months on my fingers, due to me not being comfortable with this issue.

the white bumps are normal, however abnormally placed fordyce spots. the redness around and in your meatus is not normal. refrain from sex/masterbation for 2 weeks and see if it gets better. if not message me and I'll go over it again

sorry for the late answer, I haven't been home..

I just noticed another thing today about the spots, which is that I'm almost numb where they are. The head of my penis is really sensitive as I am not circumsiced, however, just where the spots are I can touch without any discomfort. would you still consider this normal?

also, I haven't had sex with my girlfriend for a really long time, as I dont know what I have and/or if its dangerous. Right now I will keep trying to use the cream my doctor suggested, although I still haven't seen any results
