Redness and irritation on perineum. Female.

For the past week or so, I’ve felt irritation when i walk “down there”. Today I looked at myself with a mirror, and noticed redness on my perineum, it’s dry, and stings/burns when i touch it and walk. What could it be? What treatment should i use?

I’ve also had smelly discharge for  about 2 weeks.

    Not sure how you can have discharge and be dry at the same time. Discharge with an odor I believe is always an infection. You need to see a doctor to find out exactly what it is. Trichomoniasis has a definite odor and is a very common infection that is treated with an antibiotic.

    If you have a smelly discharge you need to go and see your practice nurse or doctor to get a diagnosis and any necessary treatment. They may need to take a vaginal swab which is a quick, easy and painless procedure.

    Dont be embarrassed about seeing the nurse or doctor they have seen it all before.
