Redness and mild rash

Hi,

I'm used to have mild yeast infection symptoms after sex and it goes away with fungus cream. I also have folliculitis or heat rash in my groin minutes after sex.... probably from the friction or fungus...it disapears with 1 to 3 days. For a week now, I've been experiencing redness and mild burning and itching between my labias.

I've seen a doctor 3 days ago who prescribed me Flucozanole. testing for BV is negative. I'm waiting for Chlamedya bit got tested 2 months ago with my partner. Unless he cheated we should be fine. the burning and itching is gone but the redness remains.

I never had other symptoms. No smelling, no pain during sex, no fever, no discharge. No change in the product I use.

Can the redness remain for a few days? Any thought on the cause?

Hi, the medicine your taking does have side effects and the redness and tenderness could be from it. Hopefully if you finished taking the medication things should subside. Look at the pic your vagina looks normal and nothing alarming as to warrant a need to see the doctor again. I am assuming your symptoms were on your vulva and not in your vagina correct ? Also how long have you been having yeast infections with your partner ? you may want to consider what is causing it as you should not have to go through with sex. His PH may not be working with you or his semen if he is ejaculating in you ?...

Thanks for your response! Yes all my symptoms were mostly external. My vagina and cervix looks and feels healthy. the redness was there before the medication but I have to admit that I have added hydrocortizone and canesten cream. i might have overdone it... the friction from my panties is really irritating but no other symptoms except redness remain.

We took off the condom a few weeks ago and did it many times... it affected my vaginal ecosystem because the PH test told me it was bacterial or parasite vaginitis. But BV was negative and the PH test is fine now. We are back with the condom while things settles with less frequent intercourse.

My partner also has foculitis in his groin and his doctor told him to put antifungus cream. I wonder if we keep giving each other yeast infection. It started for both of us when we started sleeping together.

I was also treated ealier this summer with hemorroids that were quite persistent. I have inheritated an anal tag that keeps being irritated. To keep the place clean I started using baby wipes but I've stopped now.

It's also a particularly hot summer here and I use my bike a lot.

Writing about it, I realize it's a perfect storm for irritation. I'll keep you all posted for my cure... I'll wait 5 days to contact the doctor again if it's still red once I cleared for the std test. At the meantime, I'll apply Aloes gel and nothing else. Keep the advice coming if you feel like it!

i'm adding a picture in broad daylight so you can see the redness. The rash/bumps are already mostly gone. I haven't shaved in weeks.

Yes it is a perfect storm in many ways yes and no. I do think between you and your partner something is not compatible as it seems. Normally with a new partner you might get a yeast infection or some slight irritation as your two PH balances are different. However when it start to become reoccurring is when you should look into it more deeply. Just remember the vagina is like an open women you always want to make sure what ever you put in is clean. You can try and wear more loose fitting clothes and panties that are not as tight and cotton ones. At home none if you can, i normally do when its evening time and i am getting ready for bed. Hemorroids can be so bothersome but i have found that if i can keep hydrated and eat more fiber i am normally ok. Its when i dont when i can tell its going to be a rough couple of days. Baby wipes help a lot and or hazelwitch.

I had two medical opinion this week end. One doctor told me to do nothing and that I am probably irritated. Another one made a culture test and no candidosa was found in my vagina. He still thinks there are some remaining in my vulva. He prescribed me hydrocortisone and canesten.

I'm torn between putting more cream or less cream. Nothing has gotten better... the more I rub, the more it gets irritated. Nothing hurts when I touch but my panties rubbing is intolerable.

      I feel so depressed.

Has anything changed? Is the cream finally working? Any issue can be intolerable especially when its in a sensitive area. Im hopeful for good news for you.

Hi, sorry for the late reply but looking into your symptoms and from the doctor has said leads me think of lichen planus vulvar. I encourage you too look into it. I feel like you have you several symptoms from it. Is the itchiness on your vulva near year lips? thats where i see the redness and looks tender. Its probably where your underwear is causing the most discomfort ?? Try not to wear anything tight, wear loose clothing.

Hi, thank you all for following up. After horrible exams by male doctors, I've finally met an understanding woman doctor who listened to my story. She gave me antibiotics to try for a skin bacteria but she said it does not look like yeast. She thought it looked inflamed like contact dermatitis.

Thinking about it, I realize that I bought a different shampoo 3 months ago because my regular was out of stock. I looked up the ingredient and there is geraniol and linalool that are known to cause allergies. I wash my hair every two days so the product falls both between my buttcheeks and vulva. It makes totally sense that I'm burned where it falls. the hemorrhoids started 3 months ago and the itchiness in my vulva slowly got worst. It's too bad I had a new partner exactly at the same time, I thought it was him...

I might have been treated for hemorrhoids and yeast but it wasn't it. I've put so much antifungus on my irritated skin... The last time I've used the shampoo was 3 days ago. Contact dermatitis might take 3 weeks to heal so I'm staying patient but I'm being hopeful! I keep you posted.
