redness around ingrown hair(?)

so about a month ago i plucked an ingrown hair out of a small lump in the crook of my elbow. it swelled up and got red for a while till i started applying creme. now it has flattened quite a bit and lost much of its redness but its still pinkish and now the area around it is a reddish hue

any ideas???

cant take picture for some reason but that area is a darker shade than my other elbow. no itching or anything.

    I had something similar on my lower legs. Two follicles got infected and had white bumps at the top. They dried up eventually but left some redness that is taking ages to fade. I think with bacterial infections the redness can take a very long time to fade, almost as if some minor scarring has occurred.
