Redness in Foreskin

Hi,

I am having this redness in my foreskin. I am uncircumcised. I first saw this problem almost 1 year back and till then things improved a lot. I mean redness is now only localized to this spot(it was wide spread in the foreskin before) and it is getting less red with every day wash. My doctor told me it is nothing to worry about as it is not something serious like cancer and I should continue using Betamethasone 0.1 daily once till the redness is 100% gone. I am little worried about the side effect of using Betamethasone. Swab test was ok without any infection. I have no pain, itching. I really hope it is nothing serious. If I do masterburate 2/3 times in a day, redness becomes very prominent. I had never sex with any other women before apart from my wife.

Another thing one side of my foreskin (the side with redness) is still attached to the penis compared to the other side of the foreskin. (Attached photos).

What do you think? Is it normal and will go away automatically with washing my penis, foreskin daily? I am super worried and really want to get rid of this problem.

The redness you have can simply be described as Balanitis - a description for the symptoms themselves. However, there are several actual penile skin conditions which are specific types of Balanitis. My concern would be whether you actually have something like Balanitis Xerotica Obliterans, or Lichen Sclerosus for short. I suspect this because the symptoms should not persist if you first noticed this around a year ago.

Can I ask how long you have been using the Betamethasone? Also, has that one side of your foreskin always been attached to the head of your penis from you being first able to expose the head of your penis?

If you have been using the Betamethasone for some months - particularly if you have used it for 12 months - I think it is about time to change the medication that you are using!

So, this certainly is not normal - and will not mere 'automatically go away' - you certainly need a whole lot more than deal with this by washing your penis!!!

If you can answer the questions above, and, also state whether you are currently having unprotected vaginal sex with your wife, as this is important to know?!!!

Thank you for your reply. I have never used BETAMETHASONE more than 1 week. This redness is there since 1 year but it is getting reduced. I started using this again since yesterday and with one day of usage I am seeing improvement.

One side of foreskin is always tight over corona but i think it is also getting improved every day. My Gp asked me to continue using betamethasone until i can fully retract that side of the foreskin.

I am scared now and really praying to god that it is not cancer. i am not having any sex with my wife since last 6 months as we are expecting our first baby.

after two days of betamethasone 0.1 usage, redness is reduced now. my gp told me to continue with this for 6 weeks, but just a question is it ok to continue with 6 weeks?

Right, do you think a complete professional such as a GP would let you walk out of their office if there was ANY possibility you had Penile cancer?

You have really important things to think about, the heath of your wife and the arrival of your first child. In terms of your health, you need to do as the Doctor has directed you.

The reason the redness has returned is that it probably was not completely cured the first time you used the Betamethasone for a week. The GP understands your complete health circumstances, not just the one issue of the redness. Many different circumstances can impact on the ability of your penile skin to recover - you should therefore follow what the GP has said.

What you also need to do is give your Penis a Masturbation Holiday - the longer you abstain from Masturbation the greater the skin of your penis will be able to recover. If you abstain for 3 weeks that would be good, the entire 6 weeks you are applying the Betamethasone would be better still!

If you have a concern about the Betamethasone itself, you should know that I use a far stronger topical application than this - I have applied this for well-over 7 years, I need to do this to keep my Penile skin as healthy as possible. I have experienced no problems using this.

Focus your attention where it is best deserved, with your wife and her health, and the forthcoming arrival of the baby ....
