i am trying to get in with my dentist, but in the meantime, i am trying not to panic. This is on my inner upper lip. No pain whatsoever. looks almost like rash? does this look worrisome or normal? has anyone had anything similar who could possibly give me some insight?

Time will tell, it could be early signs of infection, but its too early to tell. It may get worse or it may go away over time. Its possible for these things to happen. I suggest you give it some time first.
