Redness on Glans. Nothing is working.

I've had this reddish spot on my glans for more than a year and I don't know what it is. I've been to a urologist and he can't really explain it. I've used Acyclovir (400mg) once a week every month, twice a day; it hasn't helped. I've tested positive for HSV1 and thought it was that. I've used clotrimazole as well and I wanna say it does help but the red spot stays there. I've noticed it tends to flare up after masturbating, yet I feel no itching or burning. Not sure if it's just a stubborn fungus or a bacteria, or some sort of irritation.

List everything other than the medication that is in contact with the skin of your penis:

typically this would be soaps, shower gels and other body wash, Lube of any kind for masturbation, anything in contact with your penis for, during and after masturbation, skin creams, moisturisers - all these and anything else ...... ?

That's everything I've used since then, I don't real put any lube for masturbation. It usually goes away when I don't touch it

You do not expose the skin on the head of your penis to soap and things like shower gel?

So yes. it could be a stubborn fungal or bacterial, or the other is an irritant that the skin is in contact with regularly, or from time to time. Masturbation will certainly make it worse as there is a great deal of friction going on.

Is it possible for you to see a Dermatologist at some point in the near future?

No, every time I shower I always make sure it's covered. Then I wash it with just water. I have noticed that it gets worse when I masturbate more than once a day. I'm skeptical of it being fungal or bacterial because I have taken antifungal and antibiotic medications before and it's still there but I don't stray far from the idea. I do have a dermatologist appointment coming up so I'll let them know everything.

So yes, it sounds like you have not identified the source of the irritation, and yes masturbation will make the issue, or more specifically, the irritation causing the redness worse because of the relative high level of friction during masturbation.

What the Derm may try you with is s combined anti-fungal and bacteria based in a steroid ointment

So please update once you have seen the Derm
