Redness on my Penis

For as far as I can remember, I've had this redness on my glans. Think its been about 2-3 years? Last week I had mild posthitis and went to see a doctor, who prescribed me some Foban/Gentrisone steroid cream. The mild inflammation on my foreskin cleared up, but the redness is still there. The thing about this redness is that as far as I can see, there is no purpura, no telangiecstasia, no soreness, no pain, no itchiness, no swelling or raised plaque or white skin or whatever. Foreskin feels the same either; I have had no greater trouble pulling it back to wash. It's pretty much asymptomatic except the mild redness which only gets redder during/after masturbation, but it then subsides back to that mild redness. I have no sexual history either; I'm in my early twenties.

The mild reddish area coincides with the area my thumb would rub against during masturbation. Is it possible this is just long term effect of masturbation? I used to masturbate one or twice a day but have since scaled down a few mths back because of work and studies. I use a different technique these days and am more mindful of my grip. Can balanitis be asymptomatic except for the redness? I've seen my GP and he says its nothing to worry about but this persistent mild redness is now on my mind!imageimage

Basically gotta watch foreskin/glans hygiene and abstain for a while I guess. Doing that for the next 2-3 mths to see if there is improvement.

ive tried bacterial/fungal treatments perscribed by my doctor and it made things even worse. clotrimozole made it worse and even hurt when i was using it. ive tried eczema treatments and it got worse too

I suggest seeing a Men's health doctor or dermatologist then. If this doesn't clear up in a few mths time for me I'll be booking an appointment with said doctors.

    Hi,

I would say balatis or a similar infection. Masturbation doesn't cause it, but can aggravate it, hence the increase in redness.

If it was bruising, then the change of grip & reduced frequency would be showing signs of recovery with a couple of weeks.

Feel free to dm me if you want.

    Rob.

Yea for now I'm basically abstaining from masturbation. My last session was a few days ago (basically me testing the waters).

I'm going to try a Foban/Gentrisone cream for the next week or so. If its bacteria related, hopefully it'll clear up. If not, then I'll just have to wait and see if the lack of masturbation helps with the redness, or maybe try an anti-fungal cream with Clotrimazole for a week or so.
