Redness on penis tip.

I have had this redness on my penis tip for a while now. There is no pain itching or discharge, the only effect is the appearance. Is this something to be worried about? Any recent sexual activity - such as immediately before this first showed?

Do you pay close attention to your persona hygiene: regular showers, change of underwear everyday and suchlike ..... ?

No sexual activity when this came up. I keep myself very clean and shower every morning, making sure to change everyday.

So, Prince has it right with the next most likely issues: when you shower do you usually apply a particular soap, shower gel or other form of body wash directly to your penis?

Or, it could be a mixture of different ones you have available that you may use interchangeably on each occasion - what you need to check is whether any of these have recently changed, if so it could be suspect.

Also, if you wash hair in the shower you need to be aware that the shampoo / conditioner may drain into your groin region.

The other thing you need to be aware of is you can get a combination effect from EVERYTHING that is in contact with irritated penile skin - this is why the ideal to work towards is simply having contact with water only. Or certainly for at least a few months after this is completely healed.

Do this sequence when you shower: before - draw your foreskin fully forward to cover the entire head and protect your inner-foreskin. Wash and fully rinse everywhere else on your body.

Clean your penis with the warn running shower water (never hot), the inside of your hand, fingers and fingertips to clean it. Spend 2 to 3 minutes simply rinsing your entire groin / genital region.

The other really important factor is you MUST remove all moisture from the head of your penis and your entire foreskin - then fully dry your entire genital / groin region.

If you sweat on a regular basis, such as doing active sport training, cycling, gym workouts and suchlike, sweat could be part of the issue you have going on - think about how you would control this.

If you wear sports shorts for workouts these must be changed for each session you do for clean laundered shorts.

I would suggest you try to do ALL of this for 6 to 8 months and see if the situation has greatly improved - if not, you would probably be best to see a Dermatologist .....
