Redness on side of penis head, only when erect or slightly irritated
Posted , 3 users are following.
Shortly having sex with my longtime girlfriend, I noticed some redness on the sides of my penis. After research, I assumed balantis and started washing with warm water everyday and using an antifungal cream. The left side cleared up almost entirely in a couple of days. The right side, not as much. Can someone confirm my suspicion here?File size is too big

George, when did you first start using the antifungal? When you wash your penis make sure you carefully completely dry it using a clean dry towel that ONLY you use as you may have some other source of irritation going on.
So, any moisture left behind can become an irritant - if you are sexually active while using the antifungal you may be picking up further source of re-infection. Again you need to do a careful and through clean up after sex, or following masturbation - as I say, once you have the redness and the irritation going on any further source of irritation can enable the original irritation to remain in place.

I've only been using the antifungal for about 5 days now.

Okay, so the important thing is to follow the instructions that were supplied with the antifungal you are using. Minimum use periods can vary depending on manufacturer, and the strength of the antifungal agent that the specific cream contains.
The big mistake most often made is people notice an improvement and stop using it within a matter of days - most manufacturers recommend around 12 to 21 days depending upon strength of the antifungal and the individual circumstances the cream is being used to overcome.
This form of medication is very regularly used to overcome a range of different circumstances - fully trained Pharmacists are only too happy to give advice and guidance on what strength of antifungal cream that should be used for what circumstances. On occasion, some with sexually acquired fungal infections with require a topical cream with a steroid content - again Pharmacists can advise on this, and, on whether a Doctor's prescription would be required for steroid versions of the cream ......

The left side has completely cleared up, however there is improvement on the right side only when flaccid. when erect it looks much worse. I have stopped washing with soap and started doing just warm water and drying. I have about 4 days left or the two week recommendation on the antifungal treatment. Any thoughts?
