Reduction

Hi everyone

A follow up from my post last week regarding doctors wanting me to reduce my pred

I have been to see the doctor today she doesn't know why I got a msg from them saying I had to make an appointment 're reducing pred as one of my markers are still raised . Only thing she can think of is they want me off pred with being on it just over a year so I brought up the posts people have wrote on here especially Eileens to to show that other people have had a longer journey on predicting than I've have so she is getting a rheumatologist to get in touch to see why one of my markers are still raised .

Plus she booking me in for a bone density scan .

Thank each and every one of you who take the time to reply to me

Paula, bone scan a good idea! Rushing off Pred a bad idea! Rush off the Devil's Tic Tacs and rush into a flare! Tapering is not a race, take your time and you will take less Pred in the long run. Good luck, think positive and try to smile. ??

Keep us up to date. Which marker is raised - do you know? Have you got a cold or anything?

Really - a year is nothing! Did you give her either of these links? Same research, slightly different take.

And above all - the median duration of PMR is just under 6 YEARS, not 6 months...

I really do not understand why some (actually many) of these doctors do not even understand the basics of how to treat PMR and GCA.

Plus Edward, the arrogance that they know best because they are the doctor and how dare you question what they tell you. I just had some articles on my cellphone and asked them to please read them. Providing information some of which was written by leaders in their field has helped me tremendously. Stay positive and smiling! ☺️

I will do Eileen sorry I don't know which markers are raised she never said I did mention the median one and told her all about this group being of great knowledge to me with pmr also told her that 10 mg is keeping me comfortable with the pmr pain although I still have a little ache in my knees and shoulders but not nearly as bad I was before the pred

Thank you I will let you know what the bone scan says

      Hi Paula

I always ask for a printout of my results. I find it really useful. In fact now. I can actually look at them on-line which is even better.
