Referred to ESP one year on !

Well my surgeon was not there today in my yearly review .. how time has flown . This week last year I had a new hip and binge watched Game of thrones . To recap still not pain free and other hip hurting so was wearily prepared for some serious NHS  fighting . But there was a lovely registrar called Barrie who DID listen and didn't discharge me . He told me previously I had bone edema irritating my adductor muscle and a thigh hamstring problem .. all news to me . So sending me to an aESP Physio therapist specialist in another hospital who does ultrasound and injections etc to find the problem

. So good news is good hip is still good and someone has listened ... bad news is still in pain and on painkillers and for some reason the good groin aches too now . Wonder if he left a saw in there ? Onward and upward .. a year on ...

    Dear Hazel

I'm sorry that you are still suffering...that is not good to put it mildly. It is however good news that your concerns are being listened to and being treated with the concern that you deserve. Just for the record as I've forgotten which approach did you have?

    Good luck Richard

      Dear Hazel

Thank for that info. Fingers (not legs!) crossed that soon the pain will be gone.

      Cheers Richard

Good news for you Hazel. I still had pains at your stage but 2yrs on from op things are great.  I saw my surgeon just over 6 weeks post up and after that no follow up unless I had a problem. Saw him at 9 months following a fall and having bursitis that physio wanted to inject. He recommended not to have it done. So I didn't and it went away. X

    Hi Hazel,

That is great to have someone pay attention to you, isn't it ... it shouldn't be an exception but unfortunately is ..

I am so sorry to hear that you still are in so much pain ... if your other hip is failing, this might happen -

the new hip, still in healing mode, is taking on too much to compensate for other hip...

and that includes the groin pain ---

Even now, so many moons post-op 2 THR surgeries, the groins are still acting up .. I am getting neuromuscular massages and it is getting better - it takes time and not such pleasant treatments, but at least I am progressing -

how are you getting on otherwise?

    big warm hug

    renee
