OK, anyone know why buscopan may cause belching? I have reflux, bloating, generally constipation predominant ibs : although can go other way occasionally.
I am on several other meds, mainly anxiety meds quetiapine XR, clonazepam and lorazepam when needed (although seem to take them for the sake of it nowdays
: they're bad news when taken long term), plus I have to take ppi for gastritis short term.

Hi, I take Buscopan to settle my stomach, and they do cause a bit of belching only because they are breaking up a bit of trapped wind.

So your saying it's a good thing really then, just releasing trapped gas from small bowel?

I used to be on mebeverine and lansoprazole and other meds that cant remember names and seemed to be always ill until my doctor told me to stop taking the meds and try eating small meals and snacks and dont eat after 6pm and only drink water after that and keep a food diary .I have been eliminating certain culprit food and use myfitness app to track my food . I have a spoon of olive oil in the morning and porridge. I have a banana for morning snack. then eat small meals until 6. it has almost stopped although still have flare ups and seem to get more in winter.

PPIS seem to make me ill too, unfortunately I need to take them for a few weeks as I've gastritis.
As for bananas and oats they give me chronic gas (maybe due to supposedly having sibo, maybe due to something else not : sure)

I take buscopan and don't get belching. Maybe its your other medications that could be causing belching. Check on your medication leaflet or consult your doctor.

Belching caused by IBS and gastritis. Ask your doctor for a different PPI since the ones you are taking disagree with you.

i think taking all the medication together is not quite helping you as much as it should.

Do you eat much fibre?, if so maybe cut right down and from what I've heard PPIs are very bad for you, my wife suffers from reflux and started having himalayan pink salt and the reflux almost vanished.

Virtually no fibre at all.

Tried ionic magnesium, only 25 mg twice a day and got very loose burning stools( almost diarrhea hea) . Guess that's better than constipation.
