Reflux, Ulcer, Hiatial Hernia or just anxiety?

For over a year I’ve been suffering with acid reflux - sometimes silent, affecting my sinuses, and causing a feeling of pressure in my jaw, or  a burning pain in chest or back, other times it’s nausea and cramps up until I eat something. I’m burp a lot and can taste food I’ve eaten even a couple of hours after I’ve eaten.

PPI’s haven’t worked, Gavison makes me feel sick and regardless of what I eat I still experience it (I’ve been following The Acid Diet by Dr. Avid for the past month with little avail).

I am going for an endoscopy in 3 weeks time but this week it’s been so bad I’m at my wits-end and been searching for help. My GP thinks it is anxiety/grief  (I lost both my best friend and father in the space of 18 months) and had an awfully stressful job when symptoms started. I’m 30 and follow a very clean diet generally, a healthy weight  and have had normal blood tests.

Anyone else had a long term daily experiences of acid reflux? Or anxiety-rooted reflux?

Sorry to hear of your issues.  A few months ago I started having heartburn, stomach pain, and throat issues, but am thinking I've had LPR for a long time.  Anyway, I did a low-acid diet for a couple weeks but it also didn't help me much.  I'm trying a modified low-carb approach right now called fast tract digestion.  The basic premise is that excess gas produced by carb digestion causes all these issues.  After 3+ weeks my stomach pain has gone away, but I do still get heartburn.  I plan to give this diet a solid couple months as it seems to have helped a lot of people online.  Have you been tested for H Pylori?  I tested positive and am also being treated for that.  My GP told me it's rare that it causes so many problems, but that it'd definitely worth treating just in case.  I've got my fingers crossed.  Good luck to you too!
