I hope you get some help soon ,if not from your doctor try social services .Some one there may give you some advice doctors don't often get involved .Even the receptionist at the surgery may be able to point you in the right direction .Look in your local paper there are often groups of volunteers who may be able to give you a break in you caring roll.Ring your local council often they have people to give you advice on who to speak to .Best of luck and will keep fingers crossed , just remembered  'citizens advice '  may be a good first port of call .Be thinking of you Carol

I am a trained Citizens Advice adviser (don't practise now as I live in a different country) but your local branch will certainly put you in touch with the right people. Ring them - they have a good telephone sevice.  If you " drop in " you might find a full office.  Good luck!

    Jean,

I have had one incidence of stress that caused me to relapse.  Since then I record my BP and heart rate (HR) daily. I find that when I have a cold or stress from travel, my BP and HR increase and I can start feeling pain in my temples and jaw (GCA).

When this occurs, I will increase my Pred by 50% for two days. When I do this I note that my BP And heart rate (HR) return to normal and my temple and jaw pain decrease.

I had a CRP level increase (to 13) during my last visit and I was quite concerned! The Dr. Explained that my cold was probabily causing this. I was directed to return to 12mg from 11mg and my BP and HR returned to "normal". I take my BP/HR every morning after "watering" my dog in the AM.
