David as I said I still had the crashes every so often and bad days which even tho I was so much better meant letting family and friends down and letting things go. I'm afraid I lost it with a new GP I had never seen before not me usually so I told rather than asked . I gave a shortened version of the last 19 years and some of the put downs I had from doctors and endocrinologists such as banging fists on their desk calling me stupid nothing wrong with you you're just depressed , it's all in your head you've got CFS just live with it!!!!!! She was quite shocked by my experiences so sent blood tests off for per oxidase and antiglobulin . I was hopeful for a definite diagnosis but the letter came back ' the lab don't do these tests when you are already taking thyroxine!!!!! She then sent me for an ultrasoundhope this  always been refused one in the past , results came back , thyroid shrunken small inflamed and definitely thyroiditis of some kind . It was after this I was seen by the specialist and the right blood tests were done and the ultrasound confirmed " you definitely have hashimoto disease" so now trying to get the correct dose of T4and T3 .which is the difficult part I am told I can live fairly comfortably with this degree of improvement but still hoping for more lol  . One other thing hashi sufferers often have low basal temperature , hope this gives you something  to discuss with your doctor good luck Sylvia
