RELAX ~ does anyone have any good techniques to relax?
Posted , 7 users are following.
Hello ~
I've been sick for almost a week now and finding I'm extremly anxious and cannot relax. I try to do deep breathing but it's not working. I've been vomiting and nauseated, so they give me "reglan". It states on there it "could" cause vomiting or nausea...wth!!
Anyone, help?

After vomiting the body feels so week. Try to get someone to massage the arches of your feet. That will put you into a deep sleep. Also getting someone to rub the tips of your fingers will help. My mum was kind enough to do this. Awoke feeking lighter.
The advice may sound kooky, but it worked for me.

Anything that works well oftentimes seem quirky but I'm willing to try anything. Yellow lentils and the top water. Do you eat the lentils too?
The massage part I get that! My husband is always rubbing my feet but now I'll have to just ask if he'd massage the arches. Like acupressure point, right? I could really go for a good nights sleep and a deep one at that! Why the fingertips? HAs anyone explained this to you? If you find out, please let me know?
Thank you Ang for your post as I believe it will be helpful. I will let you know how things come along. Again, thank you

Great. Please give the lentil water a go. Only drink the water on top at first. When your stomach is settled you can finish the remaining lentils. But there is no requirement to do so in terms of helping your symptoms. When boiling add salt to taste. It also helps with the sickness. Also adding a little salt to say a glass of ribena helps balance yours system post vomiting.
If you have any associated indigestion, have a table spoon of vinegar with a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar. If you have acid indigestion this will calm it, if you have eaten something that is not suitable, this will bring it out. Either way you will feel much better. These are tips from my nan. I have grown up on such remedies and shared them and have been thanked.
Yes re arches, this relates to accu pressure. I had this done in China. The next day I slept the whole day and missed sight seeing! The arches need to be repeatedly stroked and pressed in.
re fingers, my mum always strokes ours finger tips to relax us when we are stressed out. so ask your other half to lightly stroke the tops of you fingertips.
please let me know how you get on.
ps most of all, believe in your bodies ability to return to your centre. X

Thank you for getting back so quickly! I'm going to do that with the lentils for sure (I love lentils). Also, my late father in law, he always did that pinch of salt and sugar with red wine vinegar and he was a picture of health for so many years. A lot of your home remedies from your nan are very similar to Walters (father in law).
Thank you once again. If you think of anything else, please share as I'm definitely going to the store tomorrow and purchasing the items you stated and I've placed a phone call to my neice and ordered a CD of her final relaxation in her yoga classes, that should help me sleep that and the stretching techniques that Jaguar and Light have mentioned.
Everyone has been so awesome with great info for me to follow for the rest of my life. It's 11:55 pm, why am I up? HAHA! cannot sleep but, I haven't tried the techniques.
Tomorrow morning, the sitting erect and doing that procedure Jaguar stated then the lentils later in the day and the drops (I have to order) but will! And the final relaxation, I'll find something online until I receive my neices CD's.
Thanks everyone! Should you think of anything else, please pass it along!

I've remembered something else to calm nerves and reduce anxiety. Bach rescue remedy spray. This is a natural remedy. Available at any pharmacy. works wonders for anyone I've told. maybe spray a little of this under your tongue before you do the suggested yoga techniques!
Best wishes.

Day 1 ~ Did Light's daily meditation. Feeling some relief of anxiety and also added vigor to my "mental health". Feeling like I can conquer a lot today. Added the "tapping" at the end of this meditation and that opened me up for more relief of anxiety. Feeling a bit woozie but that's normal with the beginning stage of "tapping".
Will follow up with Jaguar's end of the day relaxation techniques. I am sitting with my grandson later today and into the evening. I'm hoping this beginning is also a new beginning for me to extend my services to my daughter more often!
Thank you everyone!
Also, the lentils are going to be cooked at my daughter's home. This should help as I'm sure I'll be somewhat anxious sitting with a 3 week old!
warm regards,

I've never had reason to try it myself but if actupuncture can work and uses the meridians, why not tapping?.

Would a brisk walk before bed actually stimulate the brain causing one to not be able to "relax" and fall asleep immediately? I've always been told this so I used to only exercise in the early morning or latest, early afternoon. Like drinking products with caffiene, the earlier the better, the later, no sleep. That's a fact.
Anyway, not challenging you, I was just curious what you have to add to this?

Just wanted to update you with regards to the techniques you've shared with me.
1. I'm doing the meditation in the early morning, and it's helping me in many ways I hadn't thought of. I'm with more energy and care more about my surroundings and myself.
2. Yes! yellow lentil water is not that tasty but it does help my stomach. Thank you once again.
3. Nighttime, the lying down and concentrating from the toes to the nose is also helping me fall asleep and quick! In fact, my husband took the TV controller out of my hand as I fell asleep with it in my hands LOL... Okay, guilty of doing this technique between shows, on commercials. Don't judge me LOL
4. Reiki and tapping is also working. It's expensive to go and have this done on a daily basis, but I'm going to go only 3 times a week and see how that works for a while. Also, as I'm having it done on me, I'm able to learn how to do it on myself. She's wonderful and is willing to share the techniques and how they work on the body. Who knows, a possible new career choice? lol
Anyway, to all of you who posted in here, thank you from the bottom of my heart and I just wanted you all to know, I asked, you came I conquered!

Would I just ask for "back remedy spray"?
ang1to10 frustrated61

Yes. It's called Bach rescue remedy. (Yes, that's the correct spelling, I've not lost my mind, yet. Lol.)
It's great in times of sudden anxiety and crisis. The spray better than the drops. Same mixture, but I believe the spray works better.
Let us know how you go. X

I've ordered "bach rescue remedy" via Amazon and it should arrive this upcoming week. Looking forward to trying this. I ordered the smaller bottle with hopes that I like it so much and it helps that I'll re-order it in a larger size.
Again, thank you for your assistance!
Mucho appreciated!

you match your symptoms to the remedie so say if one remediey matches 4 of your symptoms and another matches 6 then that would be the best one for you to help you get the problem sorted along with the rescue remedy for when your under a little more strain or your having a wobble .look into back flower remedies .they have single remedys and mixed remedys.its excellant stuff.
