Relief from PMR exhaustion?

Posted , 15 users are following.

Since prednisone treatment, my PMR switched from pain to severe, daily exxhaustion. Seems there are no pills for that. Some suggest forced exercise. That's like telling someone with flu to exercise.  I have occasionally forced myself into some chores and nearly collapsed from the effort. The condition is not only debilitating, it triggers bouts of mental anxiety. Has anyone found any form of relief?

Hi Ron, sorry I have also no answer: I think being told to excercise when you are so tired is just not on, we all know our own bodies and how far we can push them. I am tired all the time on 35mg Preds: I try and move around every hour for even 10 mins, but this makes me tired and it's painful, but I do it because of the muscles : My form of relief is to pace myself, and rest when I feel I have to, some days are better than others. But I have learnt from reading this site, don't push myself, or I will wipe out for days after : Best of luck

Fatigue was the worst thing I suffered in the first 18 months, and it wasn't until I started on MXT and reduced my pred dose (from 20mg to 7.5mg over 6 months) that it finally went away. Turns out I was suffering from too much pred!! (it's more complicated than that of course!) I still don't have any stamina, and I don't exert myself AT ALL, otherwise I fall in a big heap.

Walking has always been an issue. I still can't, and don't, walk very far or very fast.
