Relief from Vertigo because of Meniere

Posted , 7 users are following.

Dear All,

Just wanted to share my experience. I was suffering from Meniere since June 2017, Initially it was started with ringing sound in ear but later started with severe vertigo attack. Earlier vertigo attack was twice in month and then reduced to once per week and later every alternate days. Some time vertigo attack happened everyday.

This was continued for 18 months. Some one suggested to take Ginkgo Biloba. I have started taking this medicine twice a day of 120mg. Now it has been 2 months + with no vertigo attack. But still I have ringing sound in my ear.

    Hi Anupam,

It's great to hear you're doing well on the ginkgo biloba / betahistine after the hard time you've been through, and hopefully that will continue. And be sure to let us know how you're doing at intervals. P

      Hi chandra,

Yes I was feeling giddiness at the time of vertigo attack or prior to the same sometimes. I have been through Ayurveda for 3-4 months but no improvement. Later this Ginkgo Biloba along with 16mg Bitahistine made some difference. Though I do not have vertigo attack in last 2.5 months but sometimes feel giddiness while walking.

      Thanks Anupam .

Mine is ear fullness,, tinitus, imbalance while walking...so my doc is not ready to give these betahistiene and other medicines, saying those medicines are for severe vertigo patients... I had vertigo attack only once , 1 year back. but constant imbalance while walking really makes me indoor always..

anyhow for timebeing i am continuing with ayurveda medications, and most probably will go for tinitus masker next month. Anyhow there is hearing loss as well . so this masker will improve hearing and hopefully mask tinitus too.

But its a dreaded disease . No clear cut medications. Only trial and error......
