Remeron for Nausea after Gallbladder Removal

Posted , 3 users are following.

I am 3 months post op from my GB surgery and i still suffer from a host of problems. Nausea, loss of appetite, throwing up, insomnia. i had a upper endoscopy this past monday, and all they found was mild gastritis. i went for a appointment today and they already had my biopsy results which came back normal. im so frustrated about the nausea. i cant work.

so she put me on a medicine called Remeron which is a anxiety medicine and she said its also sometimes used to relax the stomach nerves to help GI problems. Has anyone used this medicine? i have to take it at night cause it causes drowsiness.

normal, No you can't be on your normal diet before you had the surgery. You need to eat 6 small meals A-day 10 bottles of water no fat no fried not too much sweets and And definitely no nuts.

It will take about 5 to 6 months more for your body to adjust without having a gallbladder.

Remember diet diet diet s the best way to go.

it's normal but remember remeron is a brand name so the medication is called mirtazapine an antidepressant. Effects are dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness, increased appetite, weight gain and dry mouth if you have dry mouth use sugarless hard candy or chew sugarless gum. if nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or unexplained fever occurs seek medical advice

i started taking the medicine last night and it took about an hour to kick in but i slept. first time i was able to get real sleep since all my problems post op. shes prescribing it to try to relax my stomach nerves so my nausea goes away and if it makes me gain weight so be it. I have loss of appetite since the surgery. ive lost 25 lbs so far cause i barely eat. if it also helps all the anxiety ive developed since these problems post op, then thats good also.

that shows your problem is mostly psychological that god. it took my body almost 1 year to get used to the new way my digestive system was. relax, be on a diet, and your body will adjust.
