Anthony - good luck with the removal. May i recommed seeing a naturapath and potentially an accupunctirist prior to and post the removal. The aim would be to strengthen your immune system as much as possible prior to the surgery. I'm not an expert though high dose antioxidant flushes and also liquid zinc suppliments to assist in healing may be helpful. Also anything that oxygenates the blood and cellular structure can assist in recovery. Studies on the use of hyperbaric chambers that deliver pure oxygen have been shown to assist in surgical recovery.
Best of luck and keep us posted

Hello, I had a mesh for a groin hernia and a nerve cut on February 9thh 2017 and have been in pain since 11th February, I'm now on crutches due to a fall. I'm have a burning searing pain.
I've been to my GP and she said this is not normal I could have kissed her! She is writing too my surgeon to get this mesh taken out and at my request have it repaired the old way.
I will be making a claim against the Trust at the end of it all.. If I could take it out myself I would, The pain is when I move slightly.

Please see N attorney ! Good dr 1st though 😁
I’m sorry she has to suffer any, it’s not necessary.
A lot of times they took care of me better even know they were not happy about it. There are mesh lawsuits going on because of the danger.

You don’t want to come out worse after removal and you also want to make sure the removal surgeon knows how to and isnwxoerienced in a ourebtissue repair if you don’t want mesh reinserted again.

Hi Adele,
My wife had defective inguinal hernia mesh removed 1.5 years ago in NYC by Dr Brian Jacobs. She had it in her for almost 10 years. The removal was successful n surgeon found pinched nerves , blood n scar tissues. He repair it using her own skin so no foreign object. So far she is doing better, sharp pain is gone n her mobility is back but limited n Dr said this damage is irreversible which we understand. Now recently she is having issues with bowel movement as it's very inconsistent and causing her pain. Planning to schedule another appointment with that surgeon to look further into it.
Hope you have a better news
