Hi everyone. I have been following this discussion as I have had 4 hernia surgeries. I initially had 2 c sections thus causing weakness in my abdomen wall. My 1st surgery was an emergency as I was high risk for strangulation. The dr never used mesh, he went thru the existing incision, after 2.5 months it tore open causing excruciating pain. I waited 3 months to have another surgery which they then used mesh. However, my bladder had been strangulated causing infection after infection which resulted in 2 yrs on disability among many other health issues.During this time I had a 3rd hernia surgery again thru existing scar. I have a ton of scar tissue and nerve damage. 7 yrs ago I had a 4th hernia surgery but this 1 is to the right of the 1st 3..horizontal. I am in constant pain..burning sensation all the time, area feels warm to the touch. If i bump the area it hurts like hell and I get sharp stabbing pains from the inside out. Quite often my legs feel numb and swell. General ill feeling all the time.I haven't found a dr who cares to deal with me. They think its all in my head! How can I get a dr to listen?

Good luck but my best advice is to have mesh removed if you can.  I suffered for 7 years with it and it does not get better without removal.  Mine was all balled up and wrapped around spermatic cord.  Put pressure on bladder and bowels.

Marc how are you doing now and is nervre damage and scar tissue an issue for you. I am still healing after 4 years and have sometimes pain free and others sore groin area activity levels play a part in this when I get too physical like climbing up and down ladders etc it flares up take a few days or a week to calm down.

Yes I still am uncomfortable at times.  Achiness in groin area after working out.  Bladder is over active at times especially day after drinking some wine.  I believe it gets inflamed and presses on bladder.  I don’t know if it will ever get better.  I Jan my surgery beginning of Jan 2018 to remove mesh so I hope I am still healing.

Gosh, I just pray that you all find your relief. March 28, 2017 was first surgery, May 9th removal. I had such severe pain that I hit the old ER 27 times in just over 8 months. Once I was reaching out for ER Dr's testicles and I was going to clamp down like a snapping turtle and tell him stop squirming crybaby, you still have a year to go....besides, it's all in your head!!! I scared my wife as she never seem that side of me, and never will again. I posted other day, but smart apperati and I don't get along so well. I had a trial nerve stimulator with leads on Dorsal Root Ganglion from Dec 13, 2017 to Dec., 20, 2017, and could use remote to adjust. What I knew....Those were the best 7 days in over a year and 2 months. We all experience severe issues, but for over a year not a day went by when I didnt have, at the very least, my right testicle feeling your hands might after they go to sleep...pins and needles. Combine it with Spermatic Cord entrapment, and this guy went down on the spot in public 4 times, and all that brings me to this point. March 22nd, 2018, I had permanent implant put in, and I understand it's not for everyone, but folks, my wife and I will tell you that for us, it saved our marriage. Say bs all anyone wants, but I can smile and truly say, I am pretty certain I feel alot better than you poor souls. Insurance company, BCBS, fought stimulator all the way to peer to peer, and me calling 4 times absolutely sick and crying from the pain, saying it's experimental, and no proof. Well now there IS proof. My Drs showed their Drs the extreme toll on my whole being.....BP, psychological, weight, ER visits, our marriage, etc....and they pre-authed it. Again, it is fairly new, but to ALL of you, I can show you 2 TOTALLY different people, and PLEASE REMEMBER THIS: YOU will be the LAST person to realize and truly see how such pain is affecting you. Not sure about pictures on here, but I will gladly share photos of surgery sight and say this: please folks, PLEASE, if your nerve damage is very bad, at the very least talk to your Dr and/or INS co....as I can't tell you how beautiful LIFE is for you all, but over here, My testicle pain is GONE....i mean GONE......and I can adjust settings to accommodate any pain issues WE have had. Tripped once, but people, I went real close to my top range, but by next morning, it was wwwaaayyy too much, so I, yes I, turned it down, and have been great since. I am constantly saying "I'm a real boy"!!!! Good luck, and from the depths of our hearts, minds, and souls, we love you all, and feel free to ask any questions....and no, I don't have my bikini body back, and never will again, but I am "FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST"!!!!

I think I replied to wrong post . I think this is and old post . I have had severe complications from a inguinal mesh plug surgery from three years ago . I knew something was wrong very quickly after my surgery but surgeon said to wait then left the state . My quality of life has been affected tremendously . No surgeon will touch me . Tired of relying on pain pills . Looking for a lawyer , which has never been my belief but after what I have been thru I just want this fixed and to feel better . Hope the best for you .

You should at least try to contact Dr. Roberts office. They are all very helpful and will at least point you in the right direction if they can't help. 239.243.8222 just tell them that you would like to speak with an intake specialist.

The Dr. is located in Ft. Myers, Florida. Well worth the travel. For me, I knew that I didn't want to live the rest of my life uncomfortable and also have the lurking thought of recurrence or worse the mesh becoming attached to my bladder or intestines. I did a lot of research and am so happy I did. I finally feel like myself again. Love Dr. Robert Tomas and his team. Well worth the price of a plane ticket for comfort and peace of mind for myself and my family.

So happy you're feeling back to normal. Did the mesh attach to any structures or did it come out ok? Did they manage to get it all?
