Ok after my PAE was performed by my friend Dr. Bagla, we chose 2 Foley catheter. 1 for my trip flying home the next day and 2 to let it stay in for 5 days until the swelling went down. During that time I felt no pain at all was peeing fine everything was wonderful. Took the catheter out last night after the first week now it began. Pain, it was burning so badly the first 3 times I urinated the burn was amazing. Bood came out followed by a clear stream but it was still painful blood came out the first three times I urinated, now it's all clear...urinating a lot after the 5th time and burns stopped now when I urinate there is no burn and it's kind of strange cause I'm not used to urinating without pushing now I stand there and it just flows out...it's a wonderful thing. Also during the time the blood came out, I think on the third time when I urinated a huge blood clot came out and I was shocked but once it came out the flow was greater and the stream was more clear. I hope this helps anyone else who were wondering what the effect would be. Now there's no pain when urinating and the flow gets better each time...that's something that hasnt happened in years. I'm looking forward to next week.

Foley caths often cause burning and blood. Your reaction was pretty normal, Glad the PAE worked so well!
