Renal-friendly bulgur recipes??

Posted , 2 users are following.

I'm on a low potassium diet (as well as low sodium and low fat). I keep seeing bulgur listed as a good option for those of us with chronic kidney disease. It's definitely a lower potassium and phosphorous grain option.

Do any of you have any renal-friendly bulgur wheat recipes you'd be willing to share?

Thanks,

Marj

    Hi Marj

Im not great on knowing whats in food content but you could have a look a the Davita site she has lots of great ideas and may be able to give some ideas that you could adapt.

I love bulgur wheat and usually add fresh mint ,cucumber, spring onion, baby plum tomatoes , small amount olive oil and fresh lemon juice oh and not to forget fresh corriander x

Hope you are well, all the best x x x

Thanks, Jane. I'll try this. I'll just substitute red bell peppers for the tomatoes to lower the potassium level🐶
