Reoccurring cystitis, how can I manage this?

Posted , 3 users are following.

In the past year I've had cystitis more regularly suffering very month for a 4 month period. The doctors have done tests and say everything I healthy. I'm not self dosing to avoid embarrassing and difficult situations when I start the feel the pain. I'm concerned that I'll build a tolerance to the antibiotics and they will stop working.

The doctors have been very unhelpful in helping me understand how to live with this.

I'm going to try acupuncture.

Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions or how you'be managed to slow down how regularly it occurs?

I'm fresh out of ideas of how to do this.

Thanks Frances

try furolin...it is an antiseptic not antibiotic and my doc told me it doesnt digest so it doesnt affect the liver...they say to take it for a period from 3 to six months for a general protection...i took it last year when i had the same thing with reccurent utis..now i take 1/4 of it after sex (carefull if you have sex 10 times a day you dont take 10 pills only one per day (whole pill)) i find out that the utis come from sex (from my colon e coli) i never had it outside sex so i take that amount of pill and havent had one uti since i tried it..point is i dont know what i do after years pass...cause the utis left me with a horrible irritation and occasionally burning until i drink water and cant find what it is 2 years now...i have ureaplasma that does irritate the area but i dont know if it is from that and takes a long way to cure it....so....hope it all goes away for you all docs tell me if you re young the area is very sensitive and you might have reccurent utis but after some time it stops or before and during menopause...you might wanna check for infections like ureaplasma mycoplasma and that stuff..it is not usual tests to find it you need to ask a specialist once in america is hard to get one..push your gp or get a private lab test...it is done by a swab in vagina (dont do a urine test it doesnt always show up) and it a special exam for std like that...it is very tricky and can cause utis...i found it by chance and can affect fertility...so might wanna check it too cause docs never suggest it they dont as well know a lot about those mycoplasma infections...also ask your doc about the furolin once im not one before taking it good luck!! to all of us

also lots of water are needed 2 to 3 liters per day it helps clean the area and avoid te utis....a urologists i went a professor too he was direct about not taking any antibiotics or meds just letting it pass and of day by day gets better you ll take nothing...maybe that helps to not have it again but still it is not helpful when you burn so i hung on to the furolin even though he told me you cant live with the anxiety of taking those pills all time but it was really usual for me the utis..so know i found taking only 1/4 after sex like maybe half pill a week so it is better...some tips never exchange anal to vaginal sex like ever, never wipe yourself from back to front, dont use any type of soap or fragrances or wet wipes on your vagina and vuvla..just water not even those soaps of special phs..dont wear all the time synthetic panties, dont let humitidy in your pants or towels, toilet paper can irritate the ph of your vulva and cause utis due to sensitivity...also your husband might wanna check himself for having bacteria that gives them back to you like if you had ecoli he might have got it and gave it back to you after the treatment you took..now some docs say that it doesnt pass but others say they do so might wanna look it..important to know what microbe you get is it ecoli? do an ultrasound also cause stones in kidneys also do utis...so loads of water (dont over do it can hurt your kidneys) 2 3 ltr a day and dont use soaps down there hope i gave you som help....note that during sex we get touchy and your partner might touch you analy not on purpose and touching you on your vagina again might transfer you ecoli so be careful i look out for these stuff a lot....

sorry for long posts but it doesnt allow me to edit...need to see if you take the right treatement like if you have ecoli and they gave you ceclor it doesnt clear the bladder...so it might come back..also if your ph is unbalanced a shot with baking soda with an envelop once a week helps..my gyno says one litre of water you throw a spoon of baking soda and do one shot in vagina, drinking once a week a glass of water with one spoon of baking soda helps the bladder too..
