Reoccurring genital herpes hsv2 advice

Posted , 5 users are following.

I found out I had hsv2 around a year ago which devastated me. Being in a long term relationship and it just randomly appeared one day, I feel awful and down about the situation a lot of the time as I have had recurring outbreaks since.

I need some help/advice on how to stop them from recurring if anyone has any? I was taking acyclovir daily as a suppressant, but these made me feel ill taking 2 or even 1 a day and I would like to know if any natural remedies help. I do not want to be taking antiviral tablets daily forever!

I take daily vit c, zinc, vit b and recently started taking lysine.

Is there anything I can apply topically at all?

Any help or any one with experience with reoccurring hsv would be a god send right now.

hope you feel better! i totally know that feeling, and it freakin sucks but hey were alive right? i think your body is becoming dependent on the drugs, i would suggest switching your meds, i use valacyclovir cause it just works for me, but i only take it when i feel the tingles. about a year ago i was going heavy on the pills and couldnt understand why i was getting back to back outbreaks. so i allowed my body to have a outbreak and heal on its own, and i swear it strengthens your immune system. as for supplements, take garlic pills! daily garlic coupled with a 1000 lysine and everything else is great. make sure you drink lots of water though, the garlic burbs are the worst lol

I still dont get it why herpes doesnt have a vaccine. Why is virus so hard to treat. These antiviral drugs makes things worst. I thought the first outbreak is the worst but no, theses outbreaks keeps on coming just 5days interval from healing to another new set of OB. I just feel like giving up on this.

please dont give up. i inow how hard it can get. have you tried absolutely everything? if youre getting reoccurring obs then it makes me think you need a few or a lot or changes to your diet ans daily life. if you smoke cigarettes or ANYTHING with nicotine you will have baco to back obs, it sucks. personally weed doesny effect me like nicotine does. make sure you are eating healthy and getting 30 - 60 mins of exercise daily!! exercise is really great for your immune system to get stronger. the virus can live in our body and not cause is any pain hut first we much understand out own personal triggers. stress and periods are mine. i make sure to try and not get to hot headed or have a fight with my bf, cause i will get the tingles. also i make sure to take extra care of myself before and after my period cause thats my most sensitive tome of the month... oh lastly alcohol. that will also make you break out. i hope this is useful not only to you, but to others. please stay up, and stay safe.

@veronica1993 thanks for replying, yeah i take accylivor... the tablets work but as soon as i stop i break out within days!! i dont want to keep taking antivirals daily i cant see it being very good for you in the long term they also make me feel sick and make my skin really sensitive! currently trying to ride this outbreak out with out taking any pills and hopefully like you say my body will start to learn to fight it on its own? x

@mhc2020 i feel for you, im in exsctly the same position its so frustrating and wears you down. there must be a vaccine out there for people who suffer i am praying one comes out soon because its ruining my life x

no problem, we gotta stick together! have you tried valacyclovir? this is the pill they usually give you for your first Ob. i find that the acyclovir also makes me feel sick to the stomach, and i agree! the less meds the better!talk to your doctor about trying valacyclovir, i made the switch a year ago and i love it. i left a long message for someone on this chat, i recommend you read it over as well, i talked about diets. when i switched to keto, and exercised daily i swear to you, it was like i cured myself no OB. my point is diet, exercise, stress, and anything that has to do with the well being of your body needs to be monitored until you have your personal sets of triggers. i was diagnosed in 2017, so ive had it for 3 years now in july. it sucks, but i try to look at it in a positive light. we got the one virus that makes us take better care of our bodies!

thank you, no i havent spoken to the doctor about the other med but i really just dont want my body being reliant on pills all the time!

i do eat quite healthily and exercise daily... i deffo think its stress related, but with two kids under 2 its kinda hard not to get strrssed at times lol

girlllll i get that! i have one kid but he feels like two, and hes 5, so sorry to tell you the stress doesnt get better!we just have to get better at managing it! & im not saying to become dependant on the valacyclovir but to have some for a rainy day when you just know no matter what you have done youre gonna have an OB, i usually only have to take on or maybe two,(one a day), i like it cause it works faster. sorry to make it seem like im tryna get you to change your meds, but i have been on acyclovir and it was giving me similar symptoms as you said before and as soon as made the switch i was like wow! but every ones body is unique, so it may not be the same. stress is my biggest one, i try to take a deep breath whenever my baby is being frustrating. try to get them to nap together, so you can have a breather. idk if you have help, but if you do its okay to ask or accept help. im a super prideful person but im human!
