Reoccurring penis rash

Hi All,

I have been suffering with red blotches and small flares ups of tiny bumps at the top of my foreskin and under it for about 4-5 months. They are not painful and do not blister up nor do i have any pain urinating.

i did get checked at an sti clinic and they thought it was balanitis. I am a very clean person so not sure why this is coming back,

have just started with canesten.

does this look like thrush?

So when you got tested at the clinic was any form of treatment put in place then?

Have you continued to be sexually active since the clinic visit ..... ?

i have had protected sex once after i had the all clear, i they did not test for herpes as they looked at the symptoms then and said was no need to test.

i have been applying the canesten cream but to me they look like very small tears in the foreskin.

apart from the tears i have these red blotches also.

      small tears from masterbating?

So when your penile skin is compromised you need to give it the best heal possible:

So you are currently using canesten - not sure if a medical professional suggested you use that?

Part of getting the skin as healthy as possible will require you abstaining from masturbation - I would suggest that unless you do this for at least 3 weeks you are not giving the skin the opportunity to BEGIN recovery, let alone, become healthy again.

This can be a lengthy process, so ensuring there is no friction taking place such as with masturbation and sex, and trying to eliminate potential infections or other problems are essential to this process. Otherwise the compromised skin will either not repair, or, not gain sufficient strength.

You need to use the canesten as directed for 14 days is the usual recommendation, and then review what is taking place ......

Does not look that normal.. it could either be bacterial, yeast, or abnormal inflammation (autoimmune) ..or abnormal cells? Dont be alarmed about the last one, cos dysplastic (early stage abnormal ) cells do occur in any individuals, and usually the body is able to resolve it.

It looks like abnormal inflammation to me, but what is causing that is unknown. Some docs would give steroid cream, which I dont think is a good idea as steroid cream causes thinning of the skin and it might also encourage the growth of any abnormal cells (if it is dysplastic cells)

      Thanks for your reply.

The dr done a swab test and all came back as normal. No bateria or fungal infection.

canesten cream does not seem to be doing anything, the small cuts remain.

They are telling me its nothing to worry about but something is causing it!

    Update:

For anyone experiencing small cuts on the foreskin and after extensively researching this page I found a post with a similar symptoms. Caneston alone is not enough to sort the cuts out, but adding a layer of alo vera vaseline over the top dramatically improves the cuts. Mine is still inflamed but the cuts have healed quickly after applying the vaseline.
