Repacement hip/Foot ache

Posted , 6 users are following.

Hi, feeling great after nearly a year since my replacement but I find that the balls of my feet  really hurt after I have been on my feet for a short time. I keep reading about gel active soles etc., etc., I bought some gel half soles but they did not work. I cannot figure out which would be best -any help you can give would be great.

Regard

    Hi Jean,

I would check with a pediatrist to rule out issues with that bone in your foot.  He or she will also be able to recommend things that you can do to help the problem.

Sorry that I can't be of more help.

    Best of luck!

I agree. It is not very likely that the two are connected - the balls of your feet a year later sounds like something quite seperate. You should ask for a referral to a specialist. May be arthrtis in the foot, which is actually very common, but there are dozens of things it might be that are far more likely than the hip.

    dear jean,

I am sorry to read this ... when was the last time you saw your ortho surgeon?

It could be related to your hip replacement if you are not walking properly .. are you maybe still limping, or perhaps not placing you feet correctly - sometimes the wrong shoes might cause some problems -

good advice to see a podiatrist or perhaps a physical therapist -

please let us know how you are getting on, okay ... great to hear tho that you are doing great otherwise ...

    big warm hug

    Hi Jean

Im 16+months post op and I'm still having problems with damaged nerves in my foot. I recommend you have your foot checked.  The ball of my foot hurts and the sides, the toes and the heel.  Do you get a tingling feeling?  My advice is to get someone professional to talk to it will help ease your mind.

    Good luck,

    Brendax
