Repeat UTIs and Testicle Infections & Neurogenic Bladder

I have urine retention and self catheterise. I am quite sure antibiotics like Ciprofloxacin and Nitrofurantoin have subtle effects that make matters worse. (e.g. More problems with Urine Retention, Bladder Urgency, same with bowel and left foot.)

I had been led to believe it was a neurological problem and likely to be Neurogenic Bladder? Or perhaps a a pelvic floor problem.

I now believe this was so wrong ....I checked the blood pressure and APBI (Ankle Brachial Pressure Index) in my foot and both are high when my bowel is relatively full.

After a lot of grief with my GP and Urologist, I have been informed by a Vacular Consultant my bladder, bowel and foot symptoms are caused by a narrowed artery in my liver. I am pretty sure my symptoms are made worse by antibiotics and could even be caused by them.

I had Hepatitis B in 1974 which could be a factor. I believe may GP may have thought this for a long time and chosen not to tell me. (I am not sure why?)

Has anyone else found anything similar involving bladder and bowel issues, antibiotics and high ABPI / Liver Blood Pressure?
