Repeated BC

I am 25 years old and have 4 reoccurring bartholin cyst's. My first one turned out to be extremely painful at the age of 21 so the doctor drained it but just as of this year I have had 3 more. The first 2 were drained but automatically came back. I have had my 4th BC and am not sure If I need to have it drained, but over the last month it just keeps growing! It's is the size of a walnut but its completley painless except sometimes during intercourse. Should I go to a doctor to have it drained or wait to see if it will dissappear on it's own. I am truly trying to avoid having a marsupialization done. Thank you in advance for any advice

Hi there, I had my first BC pop up back in June.  It wasn't too painful and so deep beneath the skin that it couldn't be drained, so I was given antibiotics which did nothing. I got a portable sitz bath and religiously did 4 20 minute baths a day with salt water and it eventually shrunk down to nothing. However it has popped back up again after having sex. I've been doing the sitz baths again and it's going down again. Try it out and see if it helps you.

Thank you, so when you do the sitz bath it helps shrink it not help drain it? Thats all I want to do is just shrink it. I thought it would help drain it so thats why I have avoided that route. I may go ahead and try that (:

Well in my case, my cyst has always been beneath the skin. It's never really come up as a visible lump.  So when I do the baths, it just shrinks it. I'm not sure if that means the fluid inside drains from the duct or absorbs into my body..I've never had a lot of discharge or drainage happen. It just goes down. But with others I've read it seems if the cyst is swollen and visible on the surface of the skin it hopes to burst it, and then it drains. It shrinks because of the release of fluid.  Drainage or shrinkage, I see both as positive outcomes of the baths.
