Repeated shingles

Had shingles on my scalp 4 months ago and believe I have another bout but not as aggressive!

    When did the vesicle-blisters start? And do you have itching and or pain and when did that start? Have you seen a physician yet to get Antivirals. I would try to get Valcyclovir or Famciclovir, as they are more efficacious than Acyclovir. Are you having the accompanying symptoms such as headache, chills and sweating, aches and pains, fatigue cand exhaustion?

      I had shingles 4 months ago and took anti viral meds for seven days on track before the 72 hours required!  I was clear after that first episode!  I just had itching and nerve pain!  Last night my daughter noticed a little blister on the scalp where I had gotten the shingles and I washed my hair with cold water and the next morning it was gone!  I hope it’s not a second bout after almost four months!!  The itch is less too!  From tine to time I get needle like stabbing pain!  Hope you are better from this hateful disease too!

    Just wanted to add that after my first bout of shingles my doctor recommended the Shingex vaccine. Ask your doctor. It has lessoned the rash and reoccurance of out breaks. Have you tried lidocane helps numb the pain. Take care and get plenty of rest.

      Well today I feel better!  Don’t have blisters and I am so scared to see one!  I have worked hard these days to get that disease off my mind!  I also do lots of reading!  I rest at night,  the odd thing is my mom and sister got shingles years ago and they never got it again,  thanks to God!  

      But I have researched much on this topic and they say it’s odd to get it a second time!  It’s only a 6% for some one to get it again! 

      So why do I read here in the forum people who get it again?

      No I haven’t gotten the shot!  But my doctor is waiting to see if I get another bout!  Thx
