Replacement of a Total Knee Replacement
Posted , 4 users are following.
Following on from my first post I have now been back to see the consultant and he has told me that my right TKR needs to be replaced. It will be a more stable knee but the operation will take between 2 to 3hrs and is quite complicated. Has anyone had this done and can they tell me what the recovery time is and how hard it is please?

Hi - I can't seem to find your first post Sharon but I wondered if you went back to the consultant because of swelling or pain ? My TKR's were 2009 and 2010. They have been fantastic but the first one, in the last 3 weeks, has felt swollen.and not as flexible.
Michele's answer is great because it is so positive and reassuring.from an expert.
I wonder how advanced the knees now are since we had ours done
I am sure you will be fine..

I went back because of pain, the knee was unstable & the joint is very loose.

Everything crossed Sharon. That's one heck of a waiting time isn't it. Are you on a cancellation list. Best of luck.
