    Hi,

Yup this can happen if there's contradictions in the assessment report. However, because you received a letter saying they have all the evidence you need then i have no idea why you've been told you can't have the report. If they have all the evidence they need then they wouldn't have asked the assessor for more information.

They don't send those letters out and then decide to contact the assessor again.

If it was me i'd ring again and ask for the report. You'll most likely speak to someone totally different who'll agree to send the report to you. If they don't and they tell you the same thing then ask why have you recieved a letter saying they have all the evidence they need to make a decision.

I was told by my assessor that I was entitled to a copy of her report but only after they had made a decision.

They took quite a long time to reach a decision so I rang them to ask for an assessors report and actually got it before they let me know their decision. Fortunately it all went in my favour.

Only those in Northern Ireland have to wait until a decision's made before having a copy of the report. Don't ever be fobbed off when they tell you, you can't have it. Same for ESA, you're entitled to see it before a decision's been made. There's absolutely nothing in the guidelines that state otherwise.

      HI Sarah

glad it all went in your favour i had a letter on the 23rd october saying i would have a decision within 6 weeks

had a letter today saying they had all the evidence now to make a decision so was a bit strange being told i could not have a copy until the decision was made as the report will change

Denise has always been bang on point with her knowledge and advice so i will try to ask again next week all these assesments are a nightmare for your mental health i had to go tribunal for my universal credit was only in court 5 mins and i won due to lies being told by the assesor and new medical eviddence provided on the original assesment did not get submitted i am sure they are on commision to turn you down

all the best Sarah and thsnks for your input

Another thing to add, it's very rare for the assessment report to be returned back the the assessment providers, although it can happen. Asking them for more information doesn't mean it's been returned back to them and changes to the actual report can't be made by anyone.

A PIP report is called a PA4 report, if changes are made because it's been returned back then another report is made and then it becomes the PA5 report, because another report has to be produced.

      thanks Denise

that lady said that it had to go back to the assesment lady for more info

I have got to be honest it does no favours for my mental health or the extra worry especially as i have had a fair few run ins and bad experiances with dwp over last 2 years if a new report is done do i have a right to ask for the pa4 and pa5 do you know ?

No problem. It still makes no sense, if it's been returned then why send the letter out saying the have all they need to make a decision. I still don't believe what you were told is true but that's me and generally i don't trust DWP call centre advisers.

Yes, you're entitled to have a copy of them both.

I know exactly how stressful it is and it's just as stressful for those that don't suffer with mental health.

Good luck and please let me know what the recommendations are in the report and of course the decision when you have it.

I dont trust them either Denise after my previous dealings with them although i did report i had an assesment with mental health and been revered to phychiatry after i had my assesment with pip perhaps that may be why ? but either way i am very skeptical of dwp call centre staff i will let you know the recomandations and decision once i have them thanks again for your ongoing support i am very grateful Denise
