Rescue remedy, Kalms or amitriptyline? Experiences?

Any reviews of any of these? Thinking of trying all three, been prescribed Amitriptyline by doc but has some dodgey side effects apparently, other two are less threatning and would be my preferred choice but not if they're useless.

    Hi Jamie,

I used to work with someone who swore by Kalms - but I don't know how severe her symptoms were...she always seemed to be at work every day.

As for Amitriptyline - I was prescribed that in December for a neuroligical pain in the foot (one tablet at 8pm). However, I have only risked one tablet so far when the burning pain was very bad. I, too, read all the scary stuff about side-effects and haven't dared ouch them since!

Sorry I can't be any more help x

    Hi!

I always carry Rescue Remedy pastilles. I find by the time I've finished sucking them I've usually calmed

down. flavour of choice -black currant but ordinary ones are fine too! Boots often have them on three for two.

I also find lavender oil on the wrists and breathed in very comforting but I am female. I put it on my pillow at night sometimes. Have also used Rescue Night Remedy on occasion to good effect.

    Hi Joan!

Pastilles last longer in the mouth. It's probably psychological . I'm like you, going through quite a few at the

moment. Good job Boots had them on offer. Hope they're still on offer! Only cried twice today.

I have used Kalms and rescue remedy. Rescue remedy was always on hand in my house growing up, as soon as we hit 12/13 my mum had supplies of it! I tried Kalms and think it was more of a placebo effect for me.. but hey, I'll take the placebo effect over no effect!

Hi! We've had our dinner. I find this time of the day easier.

Hope you find things to help you cope. Coming on here, garden therapy (it's lovely out there- no heavy

digging just deadheading and finding what's growing and enjoying the beautiful flowers). The day can seem very long.

I'm planning an Easter Egg hunt for Sunday for the two young grandchildren (Easter tradition ).

    Keep in touch.

    Have a good evening.
