I guess you should try another doctor. Sometimes a family doctor knows what to do, sometimes a neurologist can help. Start with something simple, like Tramadol PRN, and then ask about patches. Some people have said Lyrica works, too.

Hi. I've now found the easily digestible (forgive the pun...) explanation and diet sheets for FODMAP DIET on the Stanford University healthcare website. I shall using it to try and help ease my IBS. Shall try it for the suggested 6 weeks and if I succeed will report back in detail.

Hello Graham and Mary. I see that the ibs charity also prints out lists of YES and NO foods  for this diet. May well not help our RLS but worth trying  ANYTHING after several horrendous nights.Hope others will report on their experience of this diet: I'm not a faddy eater and hate the thought of shopping and cooking separately for two in the house is  a bummer...but so is RLS and IBS.

Hi Chris   Its really bad when you have to seperate a little of the food and then add the delicious things like onion and garlic to the rest for the meal while you tuck minto the rice and chopped up tomato.

The Stanford site has some good looking reciepes that I'm starting to look forward to.   Thanks for finding it.

      Cheers

      Graham
