Restarting Zoloft after being off of it for 8 months? Help me Posted 5 minutes agoI started taking Zoloft 3 years ago during a bout of intense anxiety and panic attacks. I weaned on through my psychiatrist starting at 25mg, 50mg and stabilized at 75mg with weekly therapy. After a few months, I was back to my normal self again and have been great with no anxiety or panic for the past 2 years. Since I was feeling great, I stopped zoloft cold turkey 8 months ago and had no withdrawal symptoms (the occasional headache but nothing else). I had absolutely no anxiety or panic.... up until 2 weeks ago.
I recently had a major life change and I guess it triggered my anxiety and panic to come back, but 100x worse than last time. I have episodes of complete breakdown where I can't feel my body and the anxiety is so overwhelming that I'm close to calling 911.
I have called several psychiatrists/psychologists in my area (I now live in a different state) but am unable to get an appointment for a few weeks. I have some left over Zoloft and was wondering if I should start weaning back on slowly again (25mg) up until I can see someone? Or is this a bad idea? Has anyone restarted zoloft after being off it for so long? Did it help again or did it make things worse? Any input would be appreciated.

Thank you so much. It really helps me to know that other people have gone through this and have turned out on the better end. I'm glad you're doing well and that your panic/anxiety has stopped. I hope I can say that about myself in a few weeks too

You will. I am positive that you definitely will. Plz be strong and be positive. I have no doubt zoloft will definitely help...it helped me.... haven't had another attack since starting it...and that was over 6 weeks ago!! Be strong. If it has worked once, it will again. ??????

If you are thinking about calling 911, I'd say it's probably a good idea to do so.
I don't have that much experience with sertraline, but I don't think your symptoms are normal.
If you have more crisis before your doctor's appointment go to ER
