Restless Leg Syndrome

Although I have had RLS mildly on and off over the years it has recently become almost unbearable, mainly when I come to sit down in the evening. It has strangely coinsided with my withdrawing from Amitriptyline and I wonder if anyone else has had this happen. Would be very interested to hear from you

The first check your doctor should do is to check your iron and magnesium levels and that is a simple fix. Beware of just upping iron without checking as there are dangers in high Ferritin levels. Whilst taking dopamines the experts advise a level of 100 (don't know the units!) which is rather higher than normal but resists augmentation. This is explained in some of the excellent books on RLS and well worth reading.
