Hi guys well I went and seen the specialist for my results of my colonoscopy. He said it may be Crohn's it maybe just infection. He wants me to do another calprotectin text in 3 months. I said to him this is been going on for 4 years now so many doctors two different specialist, still no answers. He said he with not put me on medication because he does not know 100% what is causing my issues. he said my last calprotectin test was just a smigen over the line. He said all my other Vital Signs organs are in good healthy signs. Liver was a little up, I do enjoy a beer. So i wait again 3 months. My only symptoms diarrhoea sometimes and I go to the loo after some big meals. And I get a pain that is hard to describe it's in the back of the kidney region and radiates and down towards the pelvis. Sometimes after I have a movment I feel tired for 10 minutes. I have no akes or major pains I eat breakfast lunch and dinner. Don't get me wrong he is a good specialist he is very in depth. He hates the word IBS, he says he gets so many patients who come in and say I have IBS he says who told you that they say my local doctor. He performs a colonoscopy and says you don't have IBS you have IBD.

My report and photos were

The bowel prep was good, findings= there was a few small ulcers in the ileum, 5mm polyp in the sigmoid colon, 5mm polyp in the rectum, these were completely resected using cold snare, mild diverticulosis noted in sigmoud colon.

Biopsies were taken from the terminal ileum, polyps resected.

Conclusion iteitis, colonic polyps, diverticular disease. 3 weeks for histology results.

Thought id reply as i am on here.

Your fcp is normal and im thinking your biopsies didnt show anything specific.

You may just need to wait and see what happens with next fcp and obvioulsy seek advice if you are unwell in the mean time.

Thanks for your replie. Its strange not knowing whats going on. I cant tell my friends or work colleges. If it was a broken bone etc you can talk about it. Sometimes i feel worse just thinking about what it can be. My mums friend had crohns, and i remember she was in so much pain and lost so much weight.

Its wait and see. We have an overseas trip coming up in 3 months time with friends, i should be excited about it like them, but cant get my head around it!

      Thanks

Hi. Given they’ve found ulceration on the colonoscopy I’d say that was a read flag for IBD so definitely get your fc checked again & see what that shows... Hope you feel better soon.

cuba27115. That line from your doctor about how he hates the word IBS just scared the s**t out of me, no pun intended. Going by that logic, everyone diagnosed with IBS really has IBD, or at least most of them.
