Mo, if the dentist says everything is OK after a panoramic X-ray, then I suspect you're right, and it is just your anxiety getting the better of you!wink

Let it go for six weeks or so, to see if there's any change. If you're still worried about it then, you could ask your dentist to take a single X-ray of the affected area. I don't know a lot about this, but my dentist once told me they can get more info from these X-rays than the panoramic kind. If you're still worried after that, try getting yourself referred to a maxillofacial specialist (usually referred to as an oral surgeon in the US, I believe).

Sorry to hear about this, Mo. Have you tried getting help for your anxiety?

Health anxiety is a separate condition from GAD (general anxiety disorder) and falls into the same category as OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). It can be a real life-wrecker, but can often be alleviated by CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy).

I hope you can find some help for this very distressing condition.
