REZUM--HAVE YOU HAD THIS DONE???????

Posted , 385 users are following.

I had a nice conversation today with the President of the "Urology Times". He was telling me that there is a "New Procedure" that has been approved called the "REZUM SYSTEM".  The company that makes the system is called "NXThera, Inc".  You can google them up and lots of stuff comes up.  I called them for a referral and they gave me a Doctor in Minnepolis that has done it over 50 times now.  I called his nurse and she said he would call me back and answer my questions on monday.  As you guys probably know Doctors are not very good at returning calls but we'll see what happens.  Iam not very good at explaining how the procedure works but basically they take the device and put it up the uretha and vaporize the prostate cells which kills them.  It works with high pressure "steam" that at a certain degree will kill the prostate tissue.  My question for you guys is there anybody out there that has had it done to them and how are you getting along and are there "side effects", etc etc?????

I had it done 3 years ago and I have more pain and trips to the toilet than before. Wish I had a better review. I was 80 and normal weight when I had the procedure.

Chuck, how are you doing now following your Rezum?

I'm scheduled for one in few weeks and am looking for ANYONE who recommends it. Please

I hope you are ready for the outcome of the Rezum. It is very painful and it does take a long while to see results.

Out of the 103 men that have had the Rezum on the site only 35 % saw some relief. They still are taking medication and some are ever doing CIC for over a year. Also out of the 103 men you have 76 that ended up with retro

      Hope iy worked Good luck...Ken

Thank you Ken, Partially because of this thread I called off the procedure and decided to double up on meds until I'm ready to go "all the way" with a mini Turp

      Very helpful and much appreciated

Can you get something else. They will give you retro ejaculation and can cause you erection problems

Check in to the Urolift. I had mine at 58. I'm 65 and still wide open

Read up on the side effects my friend

I will check on the side effects. Retro does not worry me because of my post-children age, but erection does of course. This is really to buy time. I'm not a candidate for Urolift because of the anatomy with a bulging lobe. Was not recommended.

When you say "get something else" what do you mean?

      Thank You

Thank you for getting back to be.

Why did they say you are not a candidate for Urolift. Is your prostate to big They are going up to 100 gr or CC which ever they use. Also there is the Midlift that will take care of the medium lobe. Is your doctor telling you this because he does not do that procedure. They try to stay away from ones they do not do they make no money.

As for retro. I'm 65 and not having any kids but I'm not giving up anything. Dry orgasm sucks and I want it to stay just the way it is INTENSE

      You do what you want...Ken

      Hi Yossi.

I had it done 37 days ago and so far, I'm very happy. I know many here have not had the desired results and I fear most people that are happy move on with there lives and don't take the time to post. I have much improved flow, and no RE. And I am still hoping for a little more improvement as I'm only 37 days out.

Whatever you decide, best wishes to you.

      Yossi,

If I were you I would research every possible avenue you have and find any and all blogs related to these various choices you have in front of you. All come with warnings of long term effects and outcomes. What I'm most upset about is how passive my urologist and his PA were in saying how low the frequency of retro was and other side effects of Rezūm were. The men on here are just the ones who became frustrated and concerned enough about the current condition or experience post Rezūm that felt they needed to get validation and sound the alarm for others before it was too late for them. I couldn't feel any more regret in my decision to move forward. I currently have retro, ED, painful urination, increased frequency, painful urgency and an extreme burning sensation from my prostate all the way to the tip of my penis while urinating all this still happening 8 months after my Rezūm procedure.

It is super painful. Require they put you out.

It worked for me for about 2 months and then all hell broke loose. The worst experience of my life. Would not recommend it to anyone and have reports the "surgeon" to the state board of medical examiners along with Essentia Health, for his horrible handling of the entire experience.

i just had it done on Wednesday and had catheter in me for 7 days. They took it out and I was just dribbling so i knew something was wrong as i had no stream. I woke up next day and i couldn't ps very painful. Drove back and they had to put catheter in again. i have to wait another 7 days with the tip of my penis now getting sore. when i have to do #2 i feel that i need to ps also and thats painful as it should just go in bag don't understand why i get these spasms when sitting on toilet. i have no idea yet if this even worked but all i know having to wear a catheter everyday is not i was told would happen. just 4 more days until i get it taken out and i better have the ability to ps again and not worry about having a clot again. Nobody ever wants to go through what i just went through. Just emagine waking up to ps and can't.

I had this done almost a year ago, and since the procedure I am not able to ejaculate. I still orgasm but no ejaculation, which is very frustrating for not only myself but for my partners. In hindsight I would not have had this procedure done.
