Thank you for your input.
Rezum is a very hard procedure to heal from some men only see some relief. I have been keeping track of this procedure for the last 4 years.
There are men still after the procedure that they still have to take medication or do CIC and some men don't see a improvement for a year.
Out of the 103 men that had it only 35% of them saw some relief and 76 men ended up with retro ejaculation.
Please let me know what is going on with you so I can add you to my results. I do hope it helps you with your problem
Take care....Ken

Thanks to this forum I dropped my Rezum dream and opted for Holep.
Ken did a good job summarising real life experiences.
My surgeon, who also performs Rezum, said "Rezum is 6 weeks of misery, but people trust the newspapers, not the surgeons".
Holep was 1 day of misery and a week of recovery.
And Rezum was offered to me under general anaesthetic , negating one of its advertised advantages. Anyway, with my prostate size Rezum could be less efficient.
Happy for those who had positive experience.

Thank you......Allondon
How are you doing with the Holep. I have a couple of friends that did it because they felt it was the best for them. One guy name of Mike had it done in Chicago his prostate was 135 gr the doctor took out 55 gr after 2 year he is doing great. He does have retro he just wanted to be better.
There was guy Carl. I think he had it in California. His prostate was over 80 and the doctor removed about 30 % of the tissue. He is doing fine and does not have retro.
With the Holep the doctor told them that there is a chance of retro but there is also a 35% chance that you will not get it. It is all about the skill of the doctor
Please guy's do not be talked into a procedure that you don't want Get a second opinion or even a third. Remember it is your body and you will have to deal with the side effects not that doctor. He just moves on
Take care....Ken

Hi Ken,
I started a thread about my Holep experience: https://patient.info/forums/discuss/holep-in-the-uk-754862.
So far I've not been able to convert between prostate weight and volume. My last MRI estimated the volume around 80cc, however 77g of tissue was removed. Looking at the figures above (55g from 135g prostate) I wonder if my estimate reflected the reality.
Retro can be avoided in Holep if some tissue is left, however this may cause prostate regrowth and I did not want another surgery in the older age.
Different publications estimate probability of retro after Rezum between 5% to 30%, therefore there is a risk in any procedure.
It seems years on Tamsulosin and Dutasteride leave long-term damage as well.
Looking back, I'd say the rule of a thumb is to prepare for a surgery if you ever get into a retention.
Thanks for your wishes,
Allondon.

Hey Buddy
I hope you heal the way you what to heal. Each procedure is different and men are different with there concerns.
With regroth not every man will get that. I was told by a doctor that there are only 5 % of men will have regrowth
When you deal with retention it is a different story
God bless...Ken
