Rezum is terrible

Just had Rezum 9 days ago. Very hard to void. I was at the end of my rope with no sleep before the procedure. Now it's worse. Did I make a mistake?

    So anyone have experience with retrograde ejaculation? Is it really crummy, or no big deal?

      I have experienced it a few times since being on Tamsulosin and to me it was a horrible big deal. Fortunately at my age (76) I have learnt to only go for the full orgasm once a week and this seems to work. Some leaflets and guys say that the orgasm is the same whether the ejaculation is normal or retrograde but I dispute this. It is like running a hot tap from cold and just as the temperature is about to reach the required heat someone turns the tap off! My Urologist has offered me TURiS which is a slightly different TURP OR Finasteride but I will await my forthcoming Urodynamic Study before I ask him for alternative suggestions.

    John,   Your Urologist should have told you it may take longer than 9 days to recover from Rezum.  I have not had the procedure, but from reading about it, it looks like it takes between 2 weeks to 2 months to break even.  It varies from person to person.  One thing it depends on is how many steam injections are done.  The body has to remove dead tissue caused by the steam injections, and it takes time.   It might help to use a foley catheter or self catheterize.  Also get a Flomax prescription if you can tolerate it.
